‘overwhelmed’ - the word i hear most from my clients
Clients will often apologise before we have even started or looked at the spaces they want de-cluttered and organised. For the mess, for the clutter and for how long they have been meaning to sort it out.
The reality is that the feeling of overwhelm could be perceived as laziness, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. It is not knowing where to start, what to do next and what the end result could look like. It’s not having systems in place where items have homes to go back to and it is our busy lives and minds that don’t give us the capacity to put thought into achieving the clear and organised spaces we hope for.
When a client is showing me a space in their home that can feel like a ‘big job’ to them, I simply see the end result. I can see the categories when I look at the clutter, I can see the items used often and the ones that are never used. I can see the space that can be made available and what is best to be put there to make your routine and daily flow effortless. What is ‘overwhelming’ for my clients, I perceive as an exciting opportunity to help change someone’s daily life.
I arrive at a consultation with NO JUDGEMENT and the mindset of ‘how can I help this person in their home’.
So, if you have ever looked around your home and thought, ‘where do I even start’, then please know this is SO COMMON and you are not alone here. If you have been putting off asking for help to avoid having to explain your overwhelm or worry about it being perceived in the wrong way, then it is time to take the first step. I am here to help take the overwhelm out of your home without judgement, pressure or stress.
Sometimes you just need me to walk into your overwhelm and tell you where I'm going start and what the end result will feel like and your daily life will change for the better.
